Temple Square - New Year's Day

Cousin Corey and his wife Liz (My dad's side) showed us their cool house downtown that they are fixing up and then we spent the afternoon and evening with them. After dinner we went back to their place and played a bunch of games. Fun times.
Eating dinner at "The Pie" at the University of Utah. It was probably the first time in my life that Omar had ever mentioned that something was "salty". The pizza is huge there. Of course we never took a picture. This is a picture of my Crazy Cousins who live in SLC who took us around for New Year's day.
For some reason they kept the lights up for 1 extra day! How lucky!
We are very dark in this picture - but the lights around us look cool

In the Tabernacle - we listened to the pin drop!

New Year's Eve

Went to dinner at Outback before going to the New Year's Party.
Little did we know that we had VIP passes, which included food
My sister-in-law, Megan, was practically molested. Omar & Eddie stayed upstairs in the VIP section while we went down to the floor to dance and wait for David Archelleta (from American Idol) to come and sing. We both tried to get up on this upper level to dance and have fun. There was not room for both of us. Megan snuck up on it and then about 5 guys climbed up after her and surrounded her and would not let her get out. You can tell in this picture - she is wearing the gold sweater.

Taking a picture of ourselves crammed in with everyone

Happy New Year!!!

Special Utah Visits

We went and saw my friend since I was probably 11 years old, Nikki North. She lives in Utah now with her husband and adorable tiny baby Amelia. We talked a long time, toured her first home and then went to Cafe Rio. How I love Cafe Rio and pray they will make one in Florida. We also saw Nikki on our way to the airport to go back home. We went to a pizza restaraunt called "The Pie" at a new location near our Seugro's home.
I met with one of my old good mission companions and her new husband. We went to dinner to, where? Cafe Rio!!!
We spent the evening at my aunt Pam's house in Provo (Dad's side). We had a good time catching up with everyone, eating yummy food and playing a new card game. We were able to also see Trent and Jenn who were to get married that following Sunday night.

My gift from Eddie & Megan - it is the newest thing for straightening haird - and "InStyler"

Omar's other brother, wife and baby came in town on Saturday the 27th from Arizona and stayed until January 5. Our little nephew, Jayden, is now 14 months and is finally filling out a little bit - he was a fatty at our wedding. I am not so sure if I want kids these days - our little nephew had some crazy crying lungs the whole trip. That night we also opened gifts.

Sunday the 28th - we went to church - a very unfriendly ward - I was surprised. Omar then played video games with his brother.

We spent 4 days in Orlando with my family before flying out to Utah on Christmas Eve. We spent 2 weeks in Utah. We stayed with Omar's parents - mi suegros. They live in a newer type area called Herriman where one of the new temples is being built. It is about half way between Salt Lake City and Provo. Our first few days were spent doing a lot of shopping. Christmas Eve we had Christmas dinner - Christmas Eve is when most Spanish cultures celebrate Christmas. We were exhausted, but there was a lot of food and it was nice. There was tons of snow everywhere and by the afternoon of Christmas it finally stopped snowing. Omar and I made a huge snowman - his brother Aaron decided to help at the end. That was both Omar's and Aaron's first snow man ever. This was for sure the largest and coolest snowman I have ever made.
