Fuddruckers: Omar's Pre-Birthday Meal

After the trip to the temple...we all went to Fuddruckers. It was partly due to Omar's encouragement.

Omar showing his food to the world. In the far corner you can see my nose peaking through - how cute!
Omar wanted to do the man challenge for his birthday which is a whole 1 POUND hamburger, a large thing of chili cheese fries, a soda, and a milk shake. However, they don't have it anymore at Fuddruckers. So he settled for the pound burger! HUGE! Looks disgusting I know.

Youth Temple Trip - Orlando

So we had a full weekend of activities - we can consider them for Omar's birthday. We went with the youth from our Spanish Branch to due Baptisms in the Orlando Temple.
The sun was killing me - hence the major squinting - this is outside the temple after we finished.

Couples dinner

So we have been trying to be good people and make some friends. Omar spends a lot of time at work with Jason who also goes to our Spanish Branch. So we have done a few meals together. They were married the same day 6 months after us and so that is exciting. We ended up cooking at their apartment and they would come and cook at ours. I must admit the meal they made was insanely yummy - shrimp tostados (not pictured). Omar and I made burritos.
Omar and I with the finished product prior to eating
Chopping that lettuce
Cooking (or should we say about to savor) refried beans
RICE - Omar's first love
Jason y Carolina with a strawberry shortcake with orange glaze for Family Home Evening the following day of the burritos. That was a lot of fun.

Itchetucknee Springs Youth Trip

Most of our weekends these days are spent with the youth somehow or another. Yesterday we went to Itchetucknee Springs which is about an hour and a half away from Jacksonville, above Gainseville. We floated down the river which takes about an hour and a half, had a picnic, and then went to the two swimming holes at the State Park where the head of the spring is. The water of course was freezing and the sun was not out too much which was nice, but a little cold.

A group of us outside renting our tubes and rafts
After the float everyone brought picnic lunches

Free Cold Stone Ice Cream

When I went to BYU everyone talked about Cold Stone...they had the best ice cream ever! I have been there maybe 2 times my whole life, it is good, but overly priced and super rich. I guess I am just a cheap-o...I would rather pay $3 for a whole gallon of ice cream rather than 1 scoop. Lets just say I don't go out to ice cream much. Somehow I always seem to find out about the restaurants and places that are giving away free items. September 25th is Cold Stone's day for free ice cream...

"On September 25th Cold Stone Creamery will be offering it's 7th Annual World’s Largest Ice Cream Social at participating Cold Stone Creamery locations nationwide, a special night to join together and share the pleasures of life with a FREE ice cream and family fun. From 5:00 - 8:00PM, visitors will get free 3 oz. servings of Jack or Emily's Creation. These 2 flavors were inspired by Jack and Emily, two Wish Children.

Jack's Creation - Marshmallow ice cream with OREO Cookies, Chocolate Chips and Fudge
Emily's Creation - Nutter Butter ice cream with White Chocolate Chips, Kit Kat and Yellow Cake

All donations will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation."

Last time it was cheesecake at the cheesecake factory...but I never made it over for my slice. Hopefully I will for this one, but thought I would pass it along to anyone else who would be interested.
