Blonde Moment #1

So I thought I would start to record some of my blonde moments. There are too many of them to count and those that know me won't be a bit shocked by this one...
My mom was sick with bronchitis about a week ago and she had dropped off a prescription at CVS. I was such a kind daughter and offered to go and pick it up for her. She gave me her credit card and I went. I told the guy my moms name and he looked at me and asked when I had dropped it off. I said I didn't remember. He then asked for confirmation information. What is your birthday. I respond with "12 - 25..." trying to not forget the birthyear he responded in the middle of my sentence "1954" I said "yup thats right" he then asked me my address to which I told him and he said "hmmm..." do you know how this prescription works. I said yup and rang the stuff up and left. I went home and told my mom that it was weird that he was asking me all these questions about you - "it was like he didn't believe that I was you." My mom then had to explain to me after she stopped laughing that it might be a little difficult to believe that I was 53 years old.

Money Money Money

I have been completely shocked and appalled at how expensive weddings are! It is actually quite ridiculous. I have watched a few episodes of “Platinum Weddings” and have been in awe at how someone could spend $50,000 on a wedding (no offense to those of you who spent that much or close to that much on your wedding). I read in a bridal magazine the other day how someone spent 70 million – I said MILLION, on their wedding! Just think of what good things could have happened with that money. That is 2 times the amount that Mitt Romney used from his personal funds for his campaign. Sickening.

Wedding Planning Madness

Who would have guessed that planning a wedding is just so much work! I don't think you can possibly understand until you do it yourself. Just to give you an idea here is some of the stuff I have been doing - balance is huge and seems almost impossible when you have about 9 weeks to plan a wedding!
Here is a small timeline of some of the things I have done:
January 1 - call temple and work hard to contact someone for a temple date
January 3 – look at reception halls and pick out furniture for J-ville home
January 4 – register for wedding
January 6 – keep researching photographers and work on announcement list, choose location for reception
January 8 – wedding ring shopping, purchase wedding dress and alterations, etc.
January 9 – wedding research on computer
January 10 – go to J-ville to fill out apartment contract
January 11 – omar moves to Jacksonville, shop for announcement pics.
Janauary 12 – Omar comes back for announcement pics, purchase a few things for the apt.
January 13 – announcement pics taken
January 14 – appointment with a potential photographer
January 16 – appointment with potential photographer
January 18 – pick up ring and head to Jacksonville
January 19 – get stuff for apartment
January 20 – go to different wards to find ours
January 21 – cancel other photographer appointments and choose my photographer
January 22 – research and contact caterers
January 24 – order embosser and work on announcements
January 25 – check my announcements at the printers, appointment with caterer
January 30 – choose caterer
January 31 – find a person to make my wedding cake, look for wedding favors
February 1 – wedding dress fitting
