Check out our RIMS!

Some people call us "ghetto" and others are just plain confused. We often get the question - "What happened to your tires?" Well we were tired of having hubcap issues. Omar blames it on my driving that we are constantly losing hubcaps, Supposedly when he drove the car there was never any problems. I just call it bad luck, and my mom says it's a "camry-thing" because my brother and dad both had problems with lost hubcaps on camry's.

I have seen a hubcap or two roll through traffic from the Camry and have gone and retrieved them. Other hubcaps have just broke. We had gone through 2 different hubcap sets and for months were down to only 2 hubcaps. I had it, pulled off the hubcaps and decided we would paint the tires instead. I always thought people that did that were "ghetto", but, now I have joined them. I thought well, when we need new tires we would upgrade to real rims! Now, I don't really care to spend extra money on something that doesn't really matter. Personally, I think we can get away with what we got now.

Before the paint job - I have NO idea why the areas that were covered by the hubcap are the parts that are rusty

Not too shabby eh?

Fondue Yummy

We have a ton of fondue stuff and thought it was time for a fondue night. Omar is in the Elder's Quorum Presidency and so we invited them over for fondue. The Schreibers did the cheese, we did the meat, and the Jagodas brought the chocolate (the chocolate itself was leftover from the Valentine's day party).
I don't know what happened with the cheese, but it was just plain messed up. For whatever reason it would not mix no matter what we did. We think the problem is that she started it before she got to the house. We tried reheating it, microwaving it, anything! It stayed the same, one super long taffy like cheese. So we just cut off chunks with a knife and put it on our bread and vegetables - it still tasted good and makes a wonderful memory.

The Newlywed Game

Omar's Elders Quorum was in charge of the first ward activity of the year, Valentine's social which consisted of a dance and newlywed game.

Brianna was in charge of the decorations

We had our own DJ, next time we need a little more exciting music

I helped teach some line dancing, cotton-eye joe, boot scoot boogy, electric slide, etc.

Of course we participated and actually won our round of the newlywed game, we are that amazing.
Some of the questions we had were:
What is your husband's most prized possession? Omar just got the huge TV he wanted and so I thought, as well as others in the audience thought, hands down he would say the TV. Much to my surprise, NO...he said his Playstation 3!!!
Fill in the blank...my husband has more ____ than anyone else. My answer "back hair". He said "hair" at which point everyone laughed because obviously he is going bald (sadness). He then clarified to back hair.
If your wife could represent a road sign when she is angry what would it be? He said "Stop." The only sign I could think of was "Slippery when wet."
Which part would your wife most excel in during a beauty pageant? We both answered "interview"
What other guy would your wife ended up with if he would not have come along? This one was easy because Omar was my only boyfriend. So the answer was no one
If pilgamy was to come around again and you were the first wife, what one job would the 2nd wife be in charge of? The main job that I am in charge of is laundry so it would be laundry

The Honor Code

A co-worker today asked me what I think about the honor code. Being a BYU grad, I knew exactly what they were talking about, but was surprised that they would know what it was. I explained how great I think it is.

They explained to me that Brandon Davies, one of the star players on BYU's basketball team who has been doing amazing this season and was helping to lead BYU to the Final Four for the school's first time in history, broke the honor code and has been suspended from play. He had pre-marital sex. They wanted to know what my thoughts were about this call with the honor code.

I explained that if he broke the honor code that he should be suspended from play and even from the school. So many people want to go to school there and they will LIVE the honor code, so why should someone just because they are a star athlete not be treated like any other student at BYU.

My co-workers were surprised to hear that the honor code not only includes pre-marital sex, but alcohol, coffee, tea, tobacco, etc. I expressed that if students want to do those things they can go to any other school in the country and do them.

Every student that goes to BYU signs the honor code and it is a big deal. It SHOULD be a big deal. What has happened to the honor and integrity of people these days? I am so PROUD to be connected to not only an elite one-of-a-kind school, but one that stays true to the core of its beliefs and does not "sell out" despite worldly pressures.
